Privacy policy

Last updated 20 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-20

Your household finances are personal. This policy explains what information MoneyFrame holds, why, who can see it and the choices you have. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details: your email address, sign-in method and, if you add them, profile details such as your name.
  • Household records: transactions, accounts, debts, bills, goals, budgets, investments and anything you type or import.
  • Messages to us: what you send through the contact form or in-app feedback.
  • Technical details: with feedback, only if you choose to include them — the page you were on, your screen size and your browser type.
  • Security records: sign-in, permission and safety events used to protect accounts.

2. How we use it

  • To run MoneyFrame: store your records, calculate summaries and show reports.
  • To keep accounts safe, prevent misuse and apply fair-use limits.
  • To answer your questions and fix problems you report.
  • To understand overall use through totals and counts that never show individual records.

3. What we never do

  • We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
  • Support and administrator staff do not browse your household's financial records. Support messages never include your financial records.
  • We don't connect to your bank or move money.

4. Who can see your information

People you invite to a household can see that household's records according to their role. Nobody outside the household can see them.

We use trusted service providers for hosting, sign-in and the assistant. They process information only to provide those services to us.

5. The assistant

When you ask the assistant a question, the relevant figures from the household you are viewing are sent to an AI service to prepare the answer. It can only read, never change, your records.

6. How we protect it

Your information is encrypted in transit, each household is isolated from others, access is checked on every request, and important actions are recorded in audit logs.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your records while your account is active. Deleted records stay in your recycle bin until you restore or permanently erase them. Messages to support are kept so we can help you and follow up.

8. Your choices and rights

  • View and update your profile, and export your records at any time.
  • Delete or permanently erase records and households from Settings.
  • Ask us for access to, or correction of, your personal information.
  • If you are unhappy with how we handled a privacy matter, contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

9. Cookies and browser storage

We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in and remember display preferences such as dark mode. We don't use advertising trackers.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make an important change, we will update the version and date above and ask you to acknowledge the new policy the next time you sign in.
